CHELSEA HEIGHTS COMMUNITY GARDEN

CHELSEA HEIGHTS COMMUNITY GARDEN

Covid-19: All particpants must agree to comply with all Centre policies, procedures and guidlines.

The Community Garden is an activity of the Chelsea Heights Community Centre. At the Chelsea Heights Community Garden you can reduce your impact on the environment whilst growing your own fresh, healthy food. The garden uses harvested rainwater and helps you cut down on greenhouse gas emissions by avoiding ‘food miles’.

The garden has over 40 individual plots for growing food for personal use, plus a number of communal gardening areas which include fruit trees, herbs and areas for planting annual vegetables.

As a member you can enjoy the garden by:
• Growing your own food
• Relaxing in the natural environment
• Making new friends
• Maintaining communal garden areas and sharing in the produce
• Propagating plants
•Learning sustainable gardening practices through exchanging  knowledge with other gardeners etc
• participating in workshops and events

This is a Community Garden where the expectation is that you not only look after your plot, but participate in the upkeep and well-being of the garden.
